How can therapy help?
Psychotherapy and Counselling can be helpful when difficult, painful or traumatic experiences arise and where your own efforts to resolve them just don't seem to work. Changing how we are can feel difficult, however, seeing a psychotherapist or counsellor can support this process as it provides the time and space needed to explore any difficutlies and experiences.
We need to acknowledge though, that we cannot change our past; what has happened has happened, but what we can do is change our relationship to what has happened so that our past not longer has power over us in the present.
Territories I have experience in working with include:
- Addictions
- Anger and rage
- Anxiety or stress
- Compulsive behaviour

I work with clients for either an agreed time period, if there is a specific issue that needs exploration, or on an open-ended basis where more in-depth work can be done.

"You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognise the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.”
